One of my favorite combinations is pork chops and applesauce. For those of you who are old enough to remember, it also is fun to say that “pork chops and applesauce,” like Peter Brady did ;).
Kathryn Brunner pinned this recipe on Pinterest last week and it just sounded so perfect; I had to try it!
I followed the recipe exactly. It turned out YUMMY! The only thing I’ll tweak next time is maybe one less apple. I used four chops and five apples. I think one apple/chop would be a perfect formula for future preps.
The apples cook down into a scrumptious chunky sauce and can be served right on top of the chops. A couple of my chops were so tender they broke in two when I removed them from the crockpot!!
Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did!

Crockpot Apples and Porkchops
Original Recipe from Stockpiling Moms
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 6 hours
Total time: 6 hours 10 mins
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
5-6 Granny Smith Apples, peeled and cubed
4-6 boneless porkchops
2 Tbsp butter
¼ cup brown sugar, packed
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
Heat skillet over medium high heat.
Add butter and once melted add porkchops.
Cook each side 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
While cooking porkchops, peel apples and cube them.
Put the apples in bottom of crockpot and toss with brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. I also add a pinch of cayenne to give it a hint of heat.
Place pork chops on top.
Put lid on crockpot and cook on low 6-7 hours or high for 3-4.
Serve and enjoy.

Yum I'm going to try this! I love the Peter Brady reference. Every time I serve pork chops I say that.
